Dr. AJ Salman

My patients know that I have their best interests at heart. I enjoy giving people beautiful smiles that they can be confident about. My smile designing philosophy doesn’t only look at teeth, but also the lips, facial shape and symmetry to provide the most balanced aesthetic result.

My expertise includes dental surgery, cosmetics and orthodontics. I hold a certificate in intravenous sedation. I am also trained to administer Botox and lip fillers. My continuous research into the latest technology and regular attendance at international seminars keeps me updated with the latest techniques and technology.

Before studying Dentistry, I attended Sherwood Primary School, Northcross Intermediate, and Long Bay College. Having grown up in Auckland, I decided to come home after completing my degree in Dunedin; just too cold! When I am not working on teeth, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am also a keen fisherman and a sports fan.

I am a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, Auckland Dental Association and the New Zealand Society for Sedation in Dentistry.

I earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago in 2012. At Otago, I was elected the President of the New Zealand Dental Students Association. I was honoured by the New Zealand Institute of Minimal Intervention Dentistry for my piece, “The Role of Dentists in Society.” I received the Pierre Fauchard Academy award for excellence in clinical dentistry, and graduated with honours from my two-year Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. I have been granted a fellowship to the ICCDE (International College of Continuing Dental Education).

In 2022, I completed my diploma in primary care dentistry from the prestigious Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ireland. Over the past 10 years of being a dentist, I have gained valuable experience in hospital, community and private practice dentistry.
